I have been to Poovar Island Resort and Club Mahindra resort,Poovar before. Poovar is a small coastal village at the southern tip of Trivandrum. Poovar backwater cruise charges is costly when compared to other places. I have seen the rates as 2500  INR/ 2 persons for one hour and 3500 INR /2 persons for 1.5 hours. You can bargain the rates very much. I don’t know how much company paid for us.

We reached Poovar around 2 a.m. We had delicious kerala meals in banana leaf with egg, fish curry and fish fry. We ended our lunch with tasty adai payasam and banana.

After lunch, we started cruising through backwaters amidst  lush green vegetation. What a lovely sight!!!

The narrow water-ways added mystery to the travel.

Green hued water, majestic coconut trees, birds, an estuary with the sea on one side and the river on another… Who will not fall in love with nature?

There are floating restaurants too where you can have your lunch too. Another highlight is there are few boats in water which sells tender coconut so that you can enjoy tender coconut water while riding in boat.

They dropped at Poovar Golden beach and we enjoyed in the beach for some time.We took 2 hours pack but the actual boating for for 1.5 hours and half an hour we spend at Golden sanded beach. From the beach, they picked up and dropped at boating jetty. Had a lovely sight seeing,

We had tea and banana roast at evening and returned back home happily after dinner at nagercoil.
