A day out to Thirparappu water falls -

Thirparappu water falls is a famous water falls in Kanyakumari. It looks grand with lavish showers during monsoons. This waterfalls originate from the Kodayar river or Kothai River and descend at Thirparappu from a height of around 50 feet. Last Saturday, my husband’s office HR planned for a family trip. We started from our home around 7 a.m and started our trip to Thirparappu water falls by tourist bus. We had a good breakfast on the way. We reached water falls around 11 a.m.

There is an entrance fee to go to this water falls. It has a park which has swing, see saw and other rides for the kids to enjoy. The specialty of this water falls is there is a separate place for women to take bath in falls. It has a separate dress changing area too so that you can carry an extra dress without any worries and enjoy taking bath in the falls.The falls are scanty as it is summer season now,

I like the bamboo fencing in this place.

It has a boating facility which cost 50 INR per person. As we planned for boating at Poovar backwater cruise, we didn’t go for boating here.

There is a shopping complex on the way to the waterfalls. There are wide collection of key chains which I bought few. There are toys, hair accessories etc..
